Every year Brighton’s local homeless shelter, Almost Home, puts together Thanksgiving baskets so that underprivileged families can have a nice meal. Last year, PVMC associates donated $3,771 to the Meal Box Program, feeding nearly 189 families. Because of donations of fresh produce from local farmers and canned products from the community, Almost Home can put together a basket with all the trimmings for a family of 4 for around $20 a basket.
No donation is too small or too big. Donations are tax deductible and qualify for the Colorado Enterprise Zone Tax Credit. If you would like to take it as a tax deduction, make sure to give your name and address. Peggy will be in the Bistro to collect donations from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, 11/14. She can accept cash or check. Any individual who donates $100 or more will get their choice of a jar of “Peggy’s 2018 Peach jam” or a bottle of “Peggy’s 2018 Killer Bee honey.”
