As you know the laboratory continually strives to ensure the best level of service for our patients. Early last week, the clinical laboratory was inspected by five College of American Pathologists (CAP) surveyors from different Iowa hospitals. They spent a full day at our facility inspecting the clinical laboratory as well as our supporting clinical departments. They diligently reviewed policies and procedures pertaining to 1500- 2000 regulatory items; they spoke with our staff, supporting clinical staff, Dr. Quackenbush, Kurt Gensert, and many other PVMC employees. At the end of the day, we were complemented on our beautiful facility and quality laboratory services.
I would like to thank all PVMC staff for helping our day flow smoothly. It was a very successful CAP inspection for our team this year and I am proud to report only a minimal 1% of the regulatory items need corrective action.
Additionally, I would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Wagner, my laboratory team, and section supervisors/leads for a superb effort in their specific areas of service. Job well done!
