The recent announcement of our pending affiliation with SCL Health has brought forth some great questions. In each weekly The ICE newsletter, we’re going to do our best to answer them.
This week’s question is:
If we’re able to treat Kaiser patients some day, does this mean we’ll only treat Kaiser patients? What about those families in the community with other health plans?
Answer: If we become a hospital that is able to care for Kaiser patients, we will continue to serve patients with other insurances. Platte Valley Medical Center participates in most insurance plans currently available in the Brighton area, including commercial plans from Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, Great West, First Health, Rocky Mountain, Cofinity, PHCS (Private Health Care Systems), Unicare, Beech Street, Pacificare, Government Employees Health Association and Tricare. We also accept original Medicare, and the Medicare plans from Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Colorado Access, Rocky Mountain, Unicare, and Wellcare.
We are also continually working on agreements with more companies and Medicare plans on an ongoing basis.
If you have a question throughout the process, please feel free to call Nickie Maillet at X1601 or submit your question online.
