Sharon Turner, and two other members of the OR have put together a small committee, dedicated to planning activities to bring hospital staff together. In addition to entertaining events like monthly birthday celebrations, a kudos board and after hours picnics, the nameless committee has fronted the donation effort to aid the Red Cross and the victims of this year’s wildfires. Each quarter the committee hopes to come up with a different “feel good project.”
“The fire relief fund seemed like a perfect start, everyone appreciates the close proximity we all have to the beauty of the mountains and it’s been demonstrated how easily it can be lost,” said Sharon. “I think everyone wants to help but we get caught up in our lives outside of work and forget or think that their little donation isn’t going to amount to anything.”
“We’ve had a few people in the OR express an interest in putting together a team that will be part of the clean up process later this year,” said Sharon. So, set aside your shovels, picks, rakes and stay tuned for the next project! When we band together, we can accomplish big improvements in the lives of those who are in need.
