If you see Daryl Meyers some time this week, make sure to say “Happy Birthday!” He was treated to a very special lunch today to honor his milestone and received several treasured vintage gifts. One gift was a certified copy of the Toronto Star which was published on his actual birthday, November 19, 1942. Another was an iconic 1942 phonograph reproducer which came with a White Christmas 10″ 78 record that still plays beautifully. When asked about his favorite memory through the years, Daryl said:
“I think my favorite memories are from the early to mid 1960s,” he recalls. “I was going to school in England; I remember getting lost on the ship as we sailed over in the Queen Mary. I also remember selling books in Sweden where, of course, I met my wife Kerstin. From there we spent eight years in Africa.”
If you want to hear more great stories, Daryl has many to share. Make time to drop by and give him your birthday wishes!
