If you have an athletic child, sports-related injuries and concussions may rank high on your list of worries. Premier Pediatrics in Brighton recently welcomed Kristine Ray, M.D., a pediatrician specializing in sports medicine in children and adolescents.
Dr. Ray received her medical degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of New Mexico. While studying general pediatrics, she discovered a unique interest in sports injuries, including concussions. Dr. Ray then completed her fellowship at the University of Michigan in sports medicine, and is board certified in pediatrics.
Dr. Ray has experience helping and educating patients, parents and coaches on concussion recognition and management. She is also working with the athletic trainers and athletes at Brighton High School and Prairie View High School this year.
“My goal is to take care of area athletes so they don’t have to travel to Denver for injuries related to sports,” Dr. Ray explained. “I look forward to being a sports medicine resource for patients and other clinicians.”
