Claire began working at the old PVMC (formerly Brighton Community Hospital) on November 3, 1983 as a PRN technologist working a variety of shifts and rotating days, and eventually became full time on the evening shift. Through the years, her experience and dedication to her work has meant much to her colleagues and to the progress the department has made.
Claire has worked in all areas of the Lab. She was technical supervisor over Microbiology, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Serology. She has provided data for our lab QA and PI programs, managed our proficiency program, our LIS expert and was involved with several committees. In 2000 she passed the board of registry as a specialist in Hematology. Given her knowledge and expertise, Claire has been the heart of our Lab.
She has always been sensitive to the concerns and needs of others. Throughout Claire’s career, she has reached out to others warmly and generously; accomplished a lot and given a lot. To her peers she was seen as the heart of the Lab.
We thank Claire for her selfless dedication to all that have entered the doors of this facility. She has truly made a difference and she will be greatly missed.
