The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at 33 of ITP, an auto-immune disease. The Barnes Family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created this national award to say thank you to nurses everywhere. The DAISY award is exclusively for RNs.
The Monarch Award is given to honor and recognize employees who consistently demonstrate exemplary behaviors. All associates are eligible for the Monarch, except for RNs, since they have the DAISY.
This quarter’s DAISY honoree is Larissa Kreutzer, and our Monarch Honoree is Soledad Talmadge. Congratulations to these wonderful associates, and a big thanks to each of them for the service they provide every day to our patients and visitors.
