As the month comes to a close, we want to remind everyone that September is Sepsis Awareness Month. Sepsis is the body’s response to infection and can lead to tissue damage, organ failure and death. It remains the leading cause of death for patients in hospitals in the United States.
Fortunately, SCL Health is making significant progress in our efforts to reduce sepsis mortality, with over 70 lives saved in 2017 compared to 31 in 2016, thanks to the ongoing work of our sepsis system collaborative and its focus on providing the best care for our patients.
