Marlene Heintz has been a volunteer with Platte Valley for 15 years. In that time, she has accumulated 4,400 hours of service. Today, she was honored with the first ever Heart of a Volunteer award. Sheryl Sorensen, director of Volunteer Services, created the award to thank volunteers who show a caring and giving spirit in every aspect of their roles. Marlene has continued to volunteer at Platte Valley despite two cancer diagnoses, and greets every patient, visitor, and staff member with a warm smile. She exemplifies the patient centered care we work to achieve here, and is a wonderful choice for the first recipient of this award.
If you get a moment, take time to drop by the front desk and congratulate Marlene.
