Widespread cases of the flu and respiratory viruses in the community make it necessary to implement changes to our visitation policy, which is intended to protect and ensure the well-being of our patients. Effective December 10, 2018, and until further notice, a few changes to visitation will be in place.
Visitors must meet the following requirements:
Women and Newborn Center — only siblings of the patient are allowed. No other children will be allowed.
NICU visitors must be 18 years and older.
Med/Surg and ICU visitors must be 12 years and older.
Any persons presenting with signs of illness will be asked not to enter the patient care areas.
Special considerations should be made for extenuating circumstances at the discretion of the Unit Directors or the Charge Nurse.
You can assist us in protecting our patients, visitors and staff by:
- Asking family to keep visitors to a minimum and consider the use of FaceTime or SKYPE instead of in-person visits.
- Recommending the use of hand sanitizer for their protection as well as others.
A return to routine visitation will be made as soon as possible and will be based on recommendations from physicians, infection prevention teams, and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
