You may have heard recently that Peggy Jarrett has accepted the position of Regional Director of Community Health Improvement for our system. Moving forward, she will have two office locations, one at PVMC and the other at Good Samaritan Medical Center, since the scope of her responsibilities for the development of community health improvement, Community Benefit and CBISA data collection and analysis will include both care sites.
If you don’t know Peggy very well, she is originally from Indiana, and moved to Colorado in 1980 after receiving her undergraduate degree from Purdue University. After serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Thailand, Peggy returned to the US and received her BSN followed by her Master’s in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University.
Peggy’s love of community service and international travel led her to the Doctors without Borders village training program in China. She later returned to Colorado and joined Platte Valley Medical Center where she has spent the past 20 years as Director of Community Outreach. During this time, Peggy has been recognized by multiple community nonprofit organizations for her commitment to service and living Platte Valley’s mission of providing optimal health for all. She was Platte Valley’s first Nightingale Award nominee, a Joe Gomez Community Award winner and her work this past year led Platte Valley to win the Pennock Center for Counseling’s Healing Hearts Award. Peggy is also the current Chairwoman for the Almost Home Board of Directors.
