If you didn’t get a chance to see The Planetree Perspective, our newsletter of great Planetree stories, in print at the 5th Birthday celebration, tune in to the ICE every two weeks for Planetree Perspective shorts. Each edition of the ICE will include one or two short stories of great Planetree service from around our hospital.
One very busy day, we had a new patient arrive who had forgotten her completed forms at home. These and several other forms are required before we can see a patient, so we asked the patient to fill out another one. She informed Stephanie Marfil that she had cataracts and could not see well enough to complete the form.
Stephanie took all the registration paperwork out to the patient, read each question and filled it out for her. Stephanie never appeared impatient or rushed, and reassured the patient that she was glad to help. Stephanie always greets every patient by name, knows their children, husband, and grandchildren. She is a pleasure to work with and she is always kind and professional to other employees as well as patients.
