Children’s Hospital has awarded Platte Valley Ambulance and Southeast Weld Fire District to receive their Excellence in Pediatric Trauma Care award for 2018. The trauma committee at Children’s Hospital identifies EMS agencies that consistently provide quality care to injured kids over a 12 month period. SE Weld’s response area has always been loaded with challenging pediatric trauma situations. The last 12 months have been no different. Often, Medic 3921 is first to arrive, then PVAS arrives for mutual aid. Both of our agencies were identified as going the extra mile and providing impressive care.
Earning an award like this is the result of responding admirably in very difficult, complex, challenging and sometimes heartbreaking situations. This recognition serves as an example of the hard work our EMTs and Paramedics have put into being the best possible emergency resource for the people they serve. Congratulations to Platte Valley Ambulance Service and Southeast Weld Fire, and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the endless work you put into being extraordinary.
