As many of you are aware, we recently lost one of our finest Medical Staff physicians, a physician and friend who through the years has touched the lives many in this community, who has made a difference to his patients, their families and his friends – Dr. Virgilio Licona.
Dr. Licona was a very special man and great physician. He enjoyed all aspects of Family Medicine and dedicated his career to caring for the underserved. Dr. Licona believed in the philosophy: “Healthcare is for people, not profit.”
Dr. Licona loved classical music and was a Broncos and Rapids fan. Of his family, Dr. Licona once said: “I am proud to have my wife, Barbara, two wonderful children, Marco and Tara, and beautiful grandchildren. I have no greater achievements.”
A service of remembrance and celebration honoring Dr. Licona will be held at Prairie View High School on Saturday, April 23, at 1:00 p.m. (12909 120th Ave., Henderson, CO). The family of Dr. Licona would be honored if you could join them for this special service. His obituary can be found here.
Your thoughts and prayers for the Licona family during this difficult time would be greatly appreciated.
