On May 6th, the Platte Valley Stroke Support Group participated in “The Comeback Trail” at Hudson Gardens in Littleton. The event is to raise awareness about stroke and to support the National Stroke Association. The National Stroke Association is a locally based non-profit organization dedicated to raising stroke awareness and supporting those in the stroke community. Our stroke support group had 11 participants, including 5 stroke survivors! The event was a 5K run/walk or a 1 mile walk for those who wanted a shorter distance. Our team was recognized with second overall in fundraising, reaching almost $1000! It was a great event and we are planning to do it annually. If you or anyone you know has been affected by stroke, please consider coming to our support group. We meet on the first Monday of each month from 1:30-3 PM. All are welcome. Contact Amanda Tarr at 303-498-1873 with any questions.
