Monday December 7 was the fourth annual holiday celebration of the PVMC Stroke Support Group. It included a delicious potluck spread and a white elephant gift exchange with plenty of unique items. Snowflakes created by group members are currently decorating the Physical Medicine hallways. The group started in May of 2012, and is designed to be a support network and fun meeting place for stroke survivors and their caregivers. The group has grown so much that new meetings were added each month for both stroke survivors and caregivers. The support groups are led by speech-language pathologist Amanda Tarr and physical therapist Nicole Woods. Joe Dutmer from care coordination leads the caregiver support group. We love visitors so please feel free to stop by any time or contact us if you want to present at any of our meetings. Please tell anyone who has been affected by stroke about our meeting times. We’d love to see them there! If you have any questions, please contact Amanda at extension 1873.
1st Monday of each month 1:30-3PM: Large group includes stroke survivors and caregivers
3rd Tuesday of each month 3-4PM: Small groups – survivors and caregivers meet separately
