Almost Home is busy collecting money and supplies to provide meals to 300+ families. There are two options for people who would like to help a family in need this Thanksgiving. Last year we raised $3636 and donated six baskets. We all have a lot to be thankful for. Please join in helping to make sure Brighton families have a nice meal for Thanksgiving.
Option #1- CASH DONATIONS
Your donation of $12.50 will provide a complete meal for a family. Almost Home gets donations from many of our local farmers and business leaders. They receive free onions, potatoes, as well as canned food and bakery items. By buying in bulk, they can get discounted prices for other items to make a complete Thanksgiving meal.
Option #2- CREATE A THANKSGIVING DINNER BASKET
Some departments still find that their staff would like to donate a basket of food that they have put together. We will continue to accept these donations and understand the satisfaction that comes from this personal touch.
Our goal this year is to beat last year’s donations- $3635! Monetary donation can be dropped off at Peggy Jarrett’s office any time between now and November 18th. Checks should be made payable to “Almost Home.” Peggy will track donations by department and by individual. Your donation is tax deductible. She will also be in Conference Room A on Monday November 18, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. for final donations and the collection of any baskets.
If you need ideas as to what to put in a basket, or have questions, call X3590. You are the most generous group ever! Let’s see how much we can help the Brighton families!
