The volunteers at Platte Valley who together provided 10,300 hours of service during 2017, were honored April 19th with a banquet and recognition of their service. Volunteer Week was April 15-21st with volunteers receiving “goodie” bags from their departments, as well as muffins and cookies throughout the week. The banquet was held at Heritage Todd Creek Golf Club and was enjoyed by all. Dr. Quackenbush spoke to the volunteers about their service and how it impacts our hospital. He did an excellent job of conveying the hospital’s heartfelt thanks.
Awards were given out for hours of service and years of service. In addition, the 2018 Heart of a Volunteer Award went to Pat Jakel who has volunteered at Platte Valley for 11 years in PACU and has given over 10,000 hours of service. She is such an example of going above and beyond the expected. Congratulations Pat!
Thank you to all of the staff who came to thank and support our volunteers for their tireless service. It was a great afternoon.
