We are very happy to welcome Lynette Garner to the Platte Valley family in our Associate Occupational Health Services Department (also known as Employee Health) Lynette has been a nurse for 25 years. She was a Pacu nurse for 21 years, and an OR nurse for two years. She is currently finishing her Bachelors Degree in Nursing, and will be done in just 3 weeks! Lynette says she is very excited to use the knowledge she has learned during that process, and is looking forward to learning more in the years to come. She has done some travel nursing and worked all over the country, but her favorite contract assignment was in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
Lynette’s hours in the Occupational Health office are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Currently, her office on the 3rd floor, just down the hall from HR. In September, Occupational Health will be moving to the 1st floor and will be sharing space with HR. Some of the duties covered by Lynette are: pre-employment physicals, vaccinations such as flu, respiratory mask fit tests, boosters for vaccinations as needed, blood draws for titers and updating employee health files, just to name a few.
Right now Lynette doesn’t have a lot of free time due to school, but when she does, she loves to travel. Lynette has been to over 21 countries and most of the United States. One of her favorite places was Egypt. She was born and raised here in Colorado, growing up in Arvada. She also loves to read and spend time with all of her family and friends.
