The 57th Presidential Inauguration was held on January 21, 2013. Wendy Colón, Team Commander of the Colorado DMAT took 19 other people, including Erin Rainwater from Care Coordination, to provide Decontamination assets to the Inauguration.
At 2 a.m. on Monday morning, 300 Health and Human Services personnel arrived at the Capitol before visitors were let into the Capitol and Mall area. Wendy and Erin were staged with Decontamination Personnel at the Mason building (one of the Library of Congress buildings).
The Inauguration was a very successful event with few injuries. The total number of patients the Health and Human Services roving teams encountered during the Inaugural response was 370, but of those, only 13 needed immediate transportation to area hospitals.
